Jay Rock “The Big Redemption” Tour 2018

West Coast rapper Jay Rock has announced the dates for his upcoming North American headlining fall tour. Named The Big Redemption Tour, the 29-show trek is set to begin on Sept. 12 in Lawrence, Kansas and runs well into the fall before ending in front of a hometown audience at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre on Oct. 29.

Jay Rock will be joined throughout the tour by Reason, who also appeared on the Kendrick Lamar-produced “Black Panther” soundtrack album on the track “Seasons.”

Jay Rock spent the first part of his summer performing across the country with his Top Dawg Entertainment team with their recently completed Championship Tour. The North American run certainly gave the rapper some extra exposure just in time for the June 15 release of his third studio album, Redemption.

The 13-track album features cameos from his T.D.E. label-mates SZA and Kendrick Lamar, in addition to popular fellow rappers J. Cole and Future. The recently released music video for “OSOM,” the track which features Cole, can be watched and heard in full above.

Rock certainly hopes to follow in the footsteps of his label-mates Lamar, SZA and even ScHoolboy Q, as artists from the T.D.E. roster who have used their team brand to build their own solo careers. Since her release of CTRL last June, SZA has grown in popularity to become one of the more marketable names in commercial pop and hip-hop at the moment.

Jay Rock having spent his spring and summer months on the road sharing the stage with a strong roster of rap artists, Rock will now look to bring that high-energy showmanship to venues across the country on his own tour.
